Backed by the United States Government.
Your savings are insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), as an arm of the National Credit Union Administration. NCUA is an independent agency of the United States Government.
Share accounts in federally insured credit unions are insured up to $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government. This means that each individual on an account can recover $250,000. Individual Retirement Accounts are insured separately up to $250,000. Shares maintained in different legal ownership capacities may be each separately insured. There are numerous combinations of accounts which can increase the total coverage.
The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) is the federal fund created by Congress in 1970 to insure member’s deposits in credit unions up to the $250,000 federal limit. Administered by the National Credit Union Administration, the NCUSIF is backed by the “full faith and credit” of the U.S. Government.
